EXAM ONLY: HOME Certified Program Specialist Training – Regulations

Course Description

These EXAM ONLY sessions are designed for HOME PJs who have extensive HOME Program experience and/or have recently taken Building HOME in the last 12 months and do not need a refresher course. HOME PJs are permitted to take the exam without attending the training portion of the class. While this is a permitted option for experienced HOME PJs, it is strongly recommended that participants take the course before the exam. The pass rate for “exam only” participants is much lower than for those who take the full course. In addition, participants are advised that the exam covers all four program areas eligible under the HOME Program.

To register, the PJ must obtain local HUD Field Office permission and then register to take the “exam only.” The CPD Training Registrar will verify HUD Field Office approval before confirming participation.
