Affordable Housing Resources

Course Description

This survey class will provide attendees with basic information about a range of financing sources that may be available to help with affordable housing development. This seminar will have modules on rehabilitation, homebuyer housing and rental housing. The class focuses on resources that can be combined with HOME for affordable housing, including other HUD programs such as Section 202/811, CDBG, Section 8, HOPWA, FHA and the McKinney Act programs. It will also summarize other federal programs such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits, CDFIs and USDA programs. Finally, the class will summarize private financial resources such as foundations, the secondary market, and the Federal Home Loan Banks.

Who Should Attend

This is a beginner class that is appropriate for PJ and CHDO or other HOME-eligible nonprofit staff.
